Two Important Announcements for the Long Weekend
Launching my personal substack and summer school series
Friends, if you’re reading this it’s because I’ve scheduled this post to go out while I’m resting during the long Easter Weekend! There will be no lesson today, but I have a few announcements 📢
Announcement #1: Subscribe to my personal Substack
I am finally making use of my personal substack! Many of you have asked for advice about grad school, tips on writing big projects, and other great questions/topics. Here is what you can expect from my personal substack:
⭐️Dissertation Diaries: whether you’re working on an academic project, product launch, or a super big passion project, I will share my progress towards completing my dissertation in hopes of encouraging you to make progress on yours 🙏🏾
⭐️Co-Working Sessions: I believe in the power of community! We don’t need a central campus to gather, hold each other accountable, and get stuff done ✅ Accountability groups will launch soon!
⭐️Encouragement: Remember those old-school advice columns? After speaking with my mentees, I wanted to create this space for people to ask questions about pursuing higher education, navigating elite institutions, or just regular advice from a black woman. We don’t gatekeep potentially life-changing advice & tips over here!

SHAE THE HISTORIAN will continue to be a digital classroom for learning, exploration, and curious living. Teaching is such a privilege–I look forward to these lessons/episodes every week. I’ve grown so much since starting this substack– thank you 🙏🏾
Announcement #2: Summer School
I am currently developing content for a Summer School Series and I want to know what topics you all are interested in. Reply to this email, comment below, or send me a message on substack to let me know what topics you’d be interested in learning more about this summer!
Until next time,
Hi, I’m Shae! I am a doctoral candidate in History at Harvard University. I discovered my passion for education while teaching at the college and ever since then, I’ve been on a mission to bring the classroom learning experience to all of you. Everyone deserves a world-class education and I’m so glad you entered this digital classroom 🤓.
I love the way your brain works and look forward to following all you're doing here. I especially liked the TradWife work you posted recently
