Something powerful is coming…
Introducing No Longer Footnotes — A Reflection & Resilience Workbook Inspired by Black Women in History
This is a defining moment.
In the days after the 2024 election, I went quiet. I needed time to reflect, to breathe, and to ask myself what future I was ready to build.
I could’ve stayed there — in silence, in retreat.
But I chose history.
As a historian and PhD candidate at Harvard, the stories of Black women have always been the engine of my work. While at the University of Chicago, I raised $50,000 to co-commission a monument to Dr. Georgiana Rose Simpson, the first Black woman to earn a PhD in the United States.
Black women’s stories have always carried me through the highs and lows of life. Their lives, their choices, their courage — they’ve shaped how I think, how I study, and how I move through the world.
As an avid nonfiction reader, I’ve read so many memoirs, biographies, and self-help books from some of the greatest minds. Yet, if you look at the publishing industry, it can seem like Black women don’t have lessons, insights, and advice to share as well.
That’s not true. I’ve spent months collecting the best insights and lessons from the Black women I covered in my series.
And now, I want to share their wisdom with you.
✨ Today I’m releasing pre-orders for No Longer Footnotes: A Reflection & Resilience Workbook.
This is more than an e-workbook. It’s a tool. A space for clarity, growth, and vision — drawn from the lived experiences of extraordinary Black women who shaped American history.
You’ll find:
Short, powerful profiles
Modern life lessons from their courage, leadership, and resistance
Guided reflection prompts and journal space
Tools to help you imagine what you can build — right now, right where you are
If we can learn from stoics and philosophers and entrepreneurs, surely we can learn from Black women who invented, resisted, created joy, and made a way out of no way.
This project is the result of years of study, love, and intention. And it’s only the beginning.
Pre-order the e-workbook now and be the first to receive via email when it drops on June 1, 2025.
Thank you for being part of this community. And remember: Black women are no longer footnotes. They are the blueprint.
With care and deep gratitude,
Shae
